3rd-8th grade scholars can choose either the ASYNCHRONOUS program through our partnership with Harmony Educational Services OR our SYNCHRONOUS program.

We are excited that you are interested in joining our scholars and staff at Cologne Academy Online.  Please read the following and then agree to abide by our Family Support Pledge before submitting your enrollment application.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Support my (our) child(ren)’s academic and personal achievements by ensuring that they do their homework, submit the homework, and read daily. 
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Ensure our child(ren) have a workspace that is conducive to learning.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Provide robust Internet service that is reliable and accessible daily.  CAO households with enrolled students in grades K–8 are responsible for providing their own Internet service.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Ensure scholar is in school uniform when meeting live with an instructor/class.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Support my (our) child(ren)’s academic and personal achievements by making sure they attend virtual school, live - with camera on - from 8:30-3:30, except when there is an illness, if choosing the Synchronous Learning Option.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Ensure timely arrival to all virtual classes/meeting with instructors.
  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): Support my (our) child(ren)’s academic and personal achievements by ensuring that assignments missed due to excused absences are completed in a timely manner.

  • As parent(s)/guardian(s), I (we): I (We) fully understand that non-adherence to the Parent/Student Handbook’s rules, regulations, and policies by child(ren) enrolled in CAO or by their parent(s) or guardians may result in failure to make adequate growth or in a very unlikely case, a child’s expulsion from the school. 
  • Cologne Academy Online (CAO) families with students enrolled in grades K–8 provide their own desktop or laptop computer.  (Desktop and Laptop Computers—for the most user-friendly experience Operating System: Windows 8.1 or later; macOS 10.13 or later Browsers—the latest versions of the following: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge (Windows 10 only), Safari (Mac only) Plugins—the latest versions of the following: Adobe Reader DC, Adobe Connect, VLC Media Player (Mac only)Software Microsoft Office 2007 or newer, Alternative: LibreOffice—a free productivity suite compatible with Microsoft Office file formats Broadband connection is required.)  *Prior arrangements with the school may be made if securing a personal device is a burden for the family. Please note: Tablet devices (i.e. iPad, iPhone, Kindle, etc.) are not appropriate devices for online learning.
